Random interesting fact about Salt: the girl who plays the young Angelina Jolie (I have not seen the movie, for the record) is Greta Jaye, who is the younger sister of a person who is in my graduating class and is a good friend of mine.
Still haven't seen Inception... |

Random is right.
As you know, I'm not one to see movies in the theater...Inception was by far worth it! -------------------- Coaster Count: 250 (200/50)

Yeah, I have no idea either. Crazy connections I guess...
I am currently in upstate New York with cousins, and will be until Wednesday night. If we don't see it up here I'll definitely try to see it Thursday or Friday. |

Where upstate? Like Albany? Syracuse? If you took the Thruway up, you drove within like a mile of where I grew up.

We did take the Thruway up, and actually that did cross my mind, although I never saw any signs for Tillson and wouldn't have known when we passed it. These cousins are in Latham, about 20 minutes from Albany.

Ah yes, I've been to Latham...used to have some family there.
Haha...signs for Tillson, very funny. I told you the population is about 1500, right? It's about halfway between the New Paltz and Kingston exits, and no, you wouldn't have known when you passed it. -------------------- Coaster Count: 250 (200/50)

Ahh, cool. Small world.
Heh, yeah. I wasn't exactly expecting to see any signs, but you never know. |

Just came back from finally seeing Inception. What can I say that hasn't already been said? The movie is spectacular. You definitely have to pay attention though.

OK, I think everyone has now seen it so we can discuss.
SPOILERS - Don't read on if you have not seen this. The movie was truly spectacular but I really did not understand the ending. Was he dreaming when he returned to the USA and went home? The little spinner continued spinning so he must have been. If he was, then that would mean what he thought was reality the whole movie was not. When they were all on the plane together, that must have been one of his dreams, as it was when he returned to this state that he went home. If that is the case, he would have been in 4 levels of dreaming when he went down to see his wife and save Robert Fischer. -------------------- Maverick is the NO1 coaster in the world. Christopher Nolan intentionally left it open-ended. The top did seem to begin to waver right before the movie cut to black, and it could have been right about to fall (that was personally my interpretation). But your interpretation could be valid as well. Basically, in the strict terms of the world of the movie, we don't know and can't know.
Has Christopher Nolan addressed this in any interviews? (And actually, if that interpretation were the case, he, Ariadne (Ellen Page), Saito and Fischer would have been in a 5th level of dreaming when they reached limbo). |

I don't think it makes much sense too read too much into it, especially if it lessens your enjoyment of the movie.
I personally liked it, a last second twist or "gotcha" that reminds people that not everything is how it seems, and that we can never know the true nature of reality. -------------------- Coaster Count: 250 (200/50)
